At last we are making the mask in an actual 3D form. We started yesterday by attaching a balloon firmly to a paper plate and building three layers of papier-mache over them. That’s an impoprtant first step, most important in fact was that we did the three layers the right way, each one with paper strips travelling perpendicular to the strips on the layer before it. (They have to criss-cross)
Today, we start with silent reading. Then a quick definition or two on the elements of art; Shape and Form. Then finish up the first three layers, and then work on the 2D mask till it’s done. Tomorrow we will build major and minor forms.
